Challenges Facing Factory Automation In 2020

No matter how great firms produce goods and products through the speeds gotten from the use of robots and machines. There would always be challenges and issues which come with the use of automation in the factory for manufacturing products.

These challenges include getting those who would work very well with the machines, getting the best training for those who are already working to reduce the number of people who would be fired. And this has to be done in a way that the efficiency of production won’t be interrupted.  To learn more about modern automation solutions, visit IntelLiDrives to learn more.

The Challenges which faces factory automation in 2020 include the following;

  • Getting workers who are skilled and creating a working environment for a younger generation of employees.

Normally in factories, most employers usually face employee problems. This is because people who are young these days do not like working in factories which produce goods and services. They don’t like these types of jobs because they feel the hours which they would be at the job are too long and the workspace is not as good as where people their age are working. Being the owner of such a working environment, there are several ways you could make your production plant seem better and more appetizing to the younger generation.

For all companies that produce goods and services, they still need workers who are skilled to be able to handle the machines and robots in the company.

Large companies always strive to offer their workers more incentives to join their firms.

Ways to make the producing environment thrilling to young workers is to make some of the processes automated, training the workers to make them more responsible and accountable. With this, the younger workers would be encouraged and their working spirit would grow to benefit the producing firm.

  • Old workers are scared of new technology which would be adopted

Some producing companies still make use of old means of production while creating goods and products. And because of this, they keep employing old workers who know how to use this equipment to help run these firms. Convincing these old workers on how to make good use of robots and machines could serve as a challenge to automating the factory in 2020. Most old workers are afraid of not being able to use these machines, the robots not working properly in their hands and could not have enough knowledge and may seem less skilled.

But if these firms get the right partners, they would be able to train their old workforce on how to use the robots and the machines.

  • Demand for goods from the company but the level of production is not the same as the rate of demand.

As the product gathers more customers, the owner of the firm has more consumers to give their products.

With this challenge, the level of production needs to increase to reach the number of customers the product has gotten.

Also, space, the number of skilled workers present, the amount that can stay while goods and products are being made, their health and safety all have to be checked during production.

Most times some producers give these steps to others to help so they would have more resources to keep up with the demand for their products.

  • Regulations change in the manufacturing firms which reduce the speed and growth of the skilled workers.

The changes in regulations by owners of manufacturing firms to skilled workers, who in turn help in the control and automation of factories have served as a challenge to the entire process. These change in regulations might be in the form of the rate of taxation or the costs which could be required to switch into a new type of product or good by the manufacturing firm.

So new steps and processes have to be given to the robots and machines and the faults which could occur while this change is happening could lead to a lot of problems.

For instance, the owner of a factory decides to change how he produces his goods. And this new process might not need more robots and more people to manage the machines used in production because it could be a new energy-efficient process. It would even need the owner to lay out some of the employees. This new process would need the manpower available to get more training, and also for new steps and processes to be installed in the machines and robots available.
