Decoding Rajasthan Judiciary System

The government jobs are one of India’s most desired jobs, and if you are into law and from Rajasthan too, you must apply to the Rajasthan Judiciary exam. Rajasthan is the biggest state in India, and its judicial system is really vast, and you need to be really motivated to be entangled in this judiciary.

If you want to get into this system, you must know every basic detail of this system. This means you should know the age limit, educational qualification, and syllabus for the test. Without these basic things in mind, you should not start preparing.

Age Limit and Eligibility

The Rajasthan Judiciary conducts its Judicial Service Examination every year, and in that, there is the recruitment of the Civil Judges Cadre of the RJS. For this position, the candidate must be above 23 years and should be below 35. There might be age relaxation for some of the reserved candidates and minority groups.

If we talk about the educational qualifications, then you must have an LLB degree from any university in India, and this University must be recognized under the Advocates Act of 1961. You should also know everything about the regional dialects and the social customs of Rajasthan.

With all this, you should be ready to take the exam as age and education qualifications are really important for you to sit in the exam.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

First, if we talk of the exam pattern, then the full procedure consists of three examinations, out of which two are written examinations, and the last one is the personal interview.

  • The first exam here is the Preliminary Exam, which is an Objective Multiple choice exam, and the second one is the Main Exam, which is a written and subjective type.
  • Rajasthan Judiciary Syllabus of paper one is Law, which is as same as the Law Papers 1 & 2 of the Main Examination. In this exam, you would also see questions from Hindi Proficiency and English Proficiency. You can find further syllabus in detail on the official website.
  • If you clear this exam, you would be eligible to sit in the main exam, and the main exam consists of two exams. These are Law Paper-1 and Law Paper-2. Both papers will be of 100 marks, and you would be given 3 hours for each exam. Then you would have the language exam, which would consist of Paper-1 and Paper-2.
  • The Language Paper-1 consists of a Hindi Essay, which would be of 50 marks, and Paper-2 consists of an English essay, and this would also be of 50 marks. For both exams, you would only have 2 hours.
  • In the end, if you clear all these exams, then you would be called for the Viva Voce Interview, which itself has a marking scheme of 35 marks. This interview will decide your suitability for RJS, and it is compulsory for the final selections ranking.
