The 2020 edition of the Olympics is approaching soon as the sports universe is gearing up for yet another exciting season of the world’s biggest sports carnival. The Olympics 2020 Schedule will feature the Tennis event where the greatest Tennis players will clash against each other to win the gold medal.

Known to be a gentleman’s sport, Tennis has been a part of the Summer Olympics since 1896 and it will also be a part of the Olympics 2020 Schedule. The European nations will look to boost their Olympics 2020 Medal Tally as they have some of the world’s best Tennis players.

Talking about the history of the sport at the Olympics, Tennis has been dominated by players from Europe and America. Here’s a look at the three greatest Tennis players of all time in the Olympics.

Serena Williams

Perhaps, the greatest female tennis player of the modern era, Serena Williams has won four gold medals in the women’s competition at the Olympics. She won the singles tournament at the London Olympics in 2012 while she also claimed the gold in the women’s doubles tourney during the same event.

Williams had earlier won the women’s doubles gold medal in the 2008 Olympics and the 2000 Olympics as well. She helped a lot in increasing USA’s medal tally and the American tennis fans will once again expect her to boost their Olympics 2020 Medal Tally.

Andy Murray

Although Andy Murray is the least successful player among the Big 4 of the men’s tennis world when it comes to winning Grand Slam tournaments, he has won more medals as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic combined.

The Scottish tennis star won the gold medal in the men’s singles tournament at the London Olympics and he successfully retained the crown in Rio, four years later. He had even finished second in mixed doubles at London Olympics 2012. However, looking at his recent performances, the chances that he adds a gold medal to Britain’s Olympics 2020 Medal Tally are very low.

Venus Williams

Just like her sister Serena Williams, Venus has won four gold medals in her elusive Olympics career. Serena had won the three of her women’s doubles gold medals with Venus while the 39-year-old had won the gold medal in the women’s singles tournament at Sydney Olympics in 2000.

She has even won a silver medal at the Olympics which makes her the most successful modern era tennis player at the Olympics.
